NASA-Combined Loads Test Chamber Project

Frank Lill & Son, Inc. was awarded the contract for the erection of a specialized COLTS (Combined Loads Test Chamber) for NASA. This project included the erection of 750 tons of steel for a special chamber utilized in the destructive testing of aircraft fuselages on conventional and composite materials. It is also utilized in the testing of aging aircraft and in the development of future supersonic designs. This chamber was built on a fast track basis and upon completion, was the only one of its kind in the world.
